Who we are
GYLT Bangalore ("we", "us") runs this website and the club it sells tickets for. We decide why and how the personal details collected here are used, which makes us the data fiduciary under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect, and why
- Tickets: your name, mobile number and email, and what you ordered. We use them to take payment, issue your tickets and let you back into your order.
- Guestlist and VIP table requests: your name, number, email, party size and any note you add. We use them to answer your request.
- Newsletter: your first name, last name, email and mobile number are required. Your music taste, birthday and preferred language are optional. We use them to send line-ups, ticket drops and news about our nights, and to make them more relevant to you.
- Payments: handled by Razorpay. We never see or store your card or UPI details.
- Technical: like any website, our servers log your IP address and device details to keep the site secure and stop abuse, and a bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) runs on our forms.
The newsletter and your consent
We send marketing only if you ticked both boxes on the signup form: that you want to hear from us, and that you are 18 or over and accept this policy. We record when you agreed and which wording you saw. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us (see the contact page); we will unsubscribe you. Withdrawing does not affect tickets or bookings you have already made.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your details. We use a small number of service providers who handle data only on our behalf: Supabase (database hosting), Vercel (website hosting), Razorpay (payments), Cloudflare (bot protection) and Upstash (rate limiting). We may also disclose details where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Booking and payment records are kept for as long as the law and our accounts require. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them; we may keep a minimal note that you opted out so that we do not email you again.
Your rights
You can ask us for a summary of the details we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase them, withdraw a consent you gave, and make a complaint to us if you think we have mishandled your data. Use the contact page; we will reply as soon as we reasonably can. If we cannot resolve your complaint, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Our events and this newsletter are for adults. We do not knowingly collect details from anyone under 18. If you think we have, tell us and we will delete them.
Security
Details are sent to us over an encrypted connection and are visible only to staff who need them to do their job. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee it.
Visits, analytics and messages
- Visits: so we can see how many people use the site and which nights interest them, a small script in your browser records the pages you view and the steps you take (looking at a night, adding tickets to your cart, starting to pay). It stores a random identifier in your browser, never your name, your IP address or your payment details, and the country and region your connection appears to be in. If your browser sends "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control, we do not record your visit.
- Your cart: tickets you add to your cart stay in your browser until you check out. If you tick the box asking us to remind you, we keep the contact details you give with that cart so we can send you one reminder, and you can stop it from the link in the message.
- News and offers: if you tick the box at checkout or on the newsletter form, we send you line-ups, ticket drops and offers by email and, where you chose it, WhatsApp. Every message has a way to stop. Email asks you to confirm your address first. We keep a record of when and to what wording you agreed.
- Who handles it: our email and WhatsApp messages are sent through service providers acting on our behalf (an email delivery service and Meta, the company behind WhatsApp).
Changes
We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page.
